Each holiday season, many business owners start thinking of ways to express their gratitude to their customers. But why make this a once-a-year thing? One of the best ways to show your appreciation to your valued clients is to do whatever you can to help them succeed.



HELP YOUR CLIENTS, HELP YOURSELF


If you’re like most business people, you spend a lot of time thinking about ways to reach your business’ goals. The question is: what are you currently doing to help your clients reach their goals – besides selling them your cost saving/performance improving product or service? 

It’s no secret that in our current economy a lot of businesses are struggling. It’s also no secret that it’s much less expensive to sell additional products or services to your existing customers than it is to obtain new customers. So if you’re a business-to-business marketer, you should be doing all you can to help your clients succeed. Successful customers are the ones that pay their bills and come back to order more!

Here are some ideas for ways in which you can promote your clients’ businesses:

  • Referrals – Keep your eyes and ears open for people and businesses that can benefit from your clients’ products and services, and then make those introductions.

  • Website Links – Add a links page to your website, and list your clients here. Instead of talking about the work you do for these companies, use the links page to showcase their products and services.

  • Newsletter Mentions – If you put out a regular newsletter, include a “customer spotlight” section.
  • Literature Distribution – If you have a retail store, buy a literature display rack and use it to display your clients’ brochures.

  • LinkedIn Recommendations – Post positive reviews of your clients on LinkedIn and other business networking sites.
  • Blog Topics – Got a blog? Devote one or two posts a week to your clients’ businesses – their products, specials, upcoming events, etc.

In many ways your business’ success is dependent on the success of your clients’ businesses. Look for ways to help your clients succeed!
